Asia Regional Applied Management Training Conference

Backgrounds
Health program managers are supposed to be able to plan, organize, control, and evaluate the use of organizational resources (such as time, human resources and money) to prevent or control disease, disability, and death. The lack of basic management skills among public health workers is an important barrier to providing quality health services.  Applied Management Training courses (AMTC) for public health staff seek to empower practical management skills and apply them in their work sites in order to continuously improve the quality of services in their respective agencies. Better health services lead to healthier populations.  Thus, applied management training is an important component of health workforce development.
This regional conference aims to bring together applied management training alumni and faculty from Asia.

Conference Objectives

• To advocate for investment in applied management training as a strategy for health workforce development
• To provide an opportunity to showcase the outputs of AMTC graduates and their contributions to improved quality of health services and systems
• To exchange best practices in applied management training
• To provide networking opportunities for training institutions, AMTC alumni and partners
• To provide an opportunity for AMTC alumni and training staff to upgrade their knowledge and skills on practical management and training methodologies

Conference will be held on 25-26 July 2017 at the Grand Savero Hotel, Bogor, West Java Province.

Participant
Target participants of this conference is academics, researchers, students, policymakers / government, NGOs, professional, industrial, and others with diverse backgrounds who can support applied management training.
